Sopraseal Stick Primer is a solvent-based SBS rubber primer specifically formulated to maximize the adhesion of self-adhesive waterproofing and air/vapour barrier membranes on porous substrates in wall and foundation applications. Composed of SBS synthetic rubbers, adhesive-enhancing resins, and fast-evaporating solvents, it penetrates and conditions the substrate surface — dramatically improving the bond of self-adhesive membranes like Sopraseal Stick AVB AT and Sopraseal Stick 1100 T to exterior gypsum board, wood, concrete, and metal. Sopraseal Stick Primer offers one of the widest application temperature windows available, down to –30°C (–22°F) by brush or roller, making it viable year-round in Canadian climates.
Ideal For: Pre-treatment of porous surfaces prior to application of self-adhesive membranes in wall and waterproofing assemblies — including exterior gypsum sheathing, wood substrates, concrete, and metal — where substrate porosity or cold-temperature conditions would otherwise compromise membrane adhesion.
