Soft Type Rod is a pliable, low-density polyethylene
foam backer rod designed for use in expansion and contraction joints
before sealant application. It functions as a depth control tool, bond
breaker, and backstop, helping to create optimal hourglass-shaped seals
that accommodate joint movement.
Soft Type Rod is non-gassing and compatible with most sealants,
including silicones, polyurethanes, and hybrids. It compresses easily,
making it ideal for vertical, horizontal, or irregular joints. The
product is available in various diameters and formats to suit different
applications, ranging from 3/8" to 3" in rolls or 6-foot stick lengths.
