 At The Caulking Store, Mississauga’s trusted trade counter for caulking, sealants, and
construction supplies, and we pride ourselves on delivering quality products, reliable service,
and expert support to the trades. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Customer
Service Representative to be the face of our Mississauga store — greeting customers,
processing sales, and keeping our invoicing, billing and product quoting running smoothly. This
is a hands-on role for someone who is just as comfortable on the phone with a contractor as
they are behind the counter or working through the books, preparing accurate quotes and
invoices that keep our customers coming back.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers via phone, email or in person at The Caulking Store in a professional and friendly manner, providing knowledgeable support on caulking products, tools, and application solutions.
- Answer phone or email inquiries and process sales transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system or Inventory Management System, including cash, debit, credit or account transactions.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with the warehouse team, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, proper documentation and managing delivery schedules.
- Ensure all retail shelves are kept fully stocked, clearly labeled, and accurately priced.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal departments to confirm product availability and lead times, helping maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized counter and store environment.
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and represent the company’s professional image with all customers and partners
- Maintain accurate product inventory and inventory records; assist with stock counts and restocking shelves, while tracking expired material and notifying the team about soon-toexpire stock.
- Prepare accurate, timely product quotes for contractors and trade customers, and follow up to help turn quotes into sales.
- Generate and process customer invoices and billing statements, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and account terms.
- Reconcile payments and account balances, follow up on outstanding invoices, and keep billing records organized and up to date.
- Prepare purchase orders and support billing coordination with suppliers.
- Place and track orders with suppliers to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Assist with products of the month, work closely with marketing team and ensure promotions are advertised on The Caulking Store various platforms.
- Assist with planning, distribution and collection of products of all The Caulking Store tradeshows work which may require weekend work.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of store process and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Meticulous attention to details
- Comfortable working with numbers — confident preparing quotes, processing payments, and reconciling invoices and account balances.
- Maintain a clean, organized storefront by removing clutter and periodically dusting shelves
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and professional attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build and maintain good working relationships
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a busy trade environment
- Experience with point-of-sale, cash handling, invoicing/billing, or inventory systems preferred; ability to learn new software quickly
- Knowledge of caulking, sealants, or construction materials is an asset

Compensation
- â–ª Wage Range: $25 CAD Hourly (commensurate with experience)
- â–ª Vacation pays and public holidays in accordance with Ontario Employment Standards
Working Hours & Conditions
▪ Current Store Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00AM -2:00PM
- ▪ Schedule/shift work will be provided; some weekend work may be required for tradeshows
- ▪ Location: On-site at the trade counter/store
- ▪ Some exposure to warehouse environment (dust, noise, variable temperatures)
- ▪ Physically able to lift and handle materials as required for orders and shipments
